Blogs

Blogs let you publish a stream of dated posts on your ClubPal site, for things like club news, match reports, or a members' newsletter. You can create more than one, so a club might run a "News" blog and a separate "Match Reports" blog, each with its own web address and its own list of posts.

Unlike a single content page, a blog is a section made up of many individual posts, listed newest first, with an optional featured image, tags, and a scheduled publish date for each one.

Before you start​

Admins need the Manage Content permission to create and configure blogs from Admin > Site Content > Blogs. See Permissions for permission setup.

Key concepts​

Blog A named section of your site, with its own web address, that holds a list of posts. Each blog has its own Published and Members Only settings, and its own list of editors.

Post A single dated entry within a blog: a title, a web address, a body, and optional excerpt, featured image, tags, and publish date.

Editors Members you can assign to a specific blog so they can create and manage its posts without needing the full Manage Content permission. An editor only has access to the blog they've been added to.

Published / Unpublished A blog is only visible to visitors once it's published. An unpublished blog, and all its posts, can still be previewed by admins and its editors.

Members only When enabled, only active members can view the blog and its posts. Admins and the blog's editors can always preview it, regardless of membership status.

How it works​

  1. An admin creates a blog and configures its settings.
  2. The admin, or an assigned editor, writes and publishes posts.
  3. The admin publishes the blog once it's ready.
  4. The admin adds the blog to the site navigation so visitors can find it.
